The Year They Burned The Books Collage

I've finished my collage based on "The Year They Burned the Books" for my Literature of Diversity class.

It's a mixed media on cardboard, and I used a variety of things to reflect the plot and message of the book. This piece is very much based on the self battle of many of the characters in the book.. I used different images and mediums to symbolize lots of things-conformity and non conformity, religion, censorship, and acceptance.

Most of the images come from old Time magazines that I cut up, the background is acrylic paint and some ink, and the bottom is covered with pieces of a burnt newspaper. I also glued some matches on different parts of the collage.

Cancer

So, I started painting again! This picture is just little fraction of a new painting I started last night, called Cancer. It's my first mixed media piece. So far I LOVE it, it's exactly how I want it. It still needs a lot of work. I'l post a pic when it's completely finished.

Yay! I'm so excited to have my muse back.

I am.....

A Ten addict.

This album rules. Every song on it is amazing. Why why WHY didn't the 90's last forever?

Buying Things Rules

So last night I cracked and spent a bit of money on some new sock yarn.

I ordered a skein of Rocky Horror (1st one) and Jade for my mom. (2nd one)
I got it from Blue Moon Fibers. This stuff is the BEST sock yarn in the world! I can't reccomend it enough- it's so much fun to work with!

Word Association

A few nights ago I played word association with my friend Buttonhead.

I love word association.
